Monday Mischief: Peanuts Tidied Our Room

Thank you for all your comments and support, dear friends. My mom is fine now. She went through a minor surgery since she's diabetic and her leg wound wasn't healing well. We're now home and back to bloggerville reality. Let me just say, I MISS EVERYBODY SOOOO MUCH!!!

Since I was practically living in the hospital for the past 10 days, I had asked a friend to take care of Peanuts and the Pack. This is what I came home to.

I tidied up our room, Haopee. I know you're very busy.
Just look at that serious face... She means business! Not only has she ruined my room's floor but she's also done some interior designing on the door and wall.

P.S. We got your package, Magic and Leigh. We'll tell you about it on our next post. Super hugs. The dogs love it so much. Thank you. Thank you. Thank You.

EDIT (5/4/2012): I am once again unavailable for the time being. My laptop is busted and my hard drive is dying, which means I won't be online again for awhile.

I'm sorry for not being able to visit your bloggies this week. Thank you for bearing with me.

A Haopee Update

Dear fellow bloggers and fellow commentators,

I won't be online for the next couple of days because my mom got admitted in the hospital. She's had never healing craters of wounds in different parts of her feet and has finally decided to take the stronger medicines to help her kill all the nasty bacteria.

I hope to get back to you next week after she gets dismissed. Wish us luck. I am currently acting as her liaison, representative and little helper in anything and everything hospital-related with an hour sleep for the 36 hours I've been awake.
Huggies and Cheese,

P.S. I've read most of your comments on Wordless Wednesday. Thank you for sharing pieces of your mind. Let me get back to you with that next week.

Wordless Wednesday: Dogs and Bottles

We are not advertising this tea drink ^^. We are simply testing its durability and posing with it.

Ginger Spiel: A bottle... I love it. I'll bite it. Make noise with it. And even annoy humans with it. But first, I'll wait for you take my picture with it.

Peanuts Spiel: Chomp, Chomp, Chomp. Can you hear me now, Haopee?

Happy Wordless Wednesday.

Ginger is All Grown-Up

Dear Friends,

I apologize for not visiting your blogs as often. I have been a bit busy here at home and working online. The Photo Strike is still on, which is why I've decided to finally fix my mom's busted 5MP-camera (I'm quite thankful that my five years in engineering have proven itself useful now.)
Ginger, when she still a wandering little puppy visiting our house every morning to play with Coal and BD.
And after three months of enjoying her puppy life with us, she's now a lady.

Now, she's all grown up (having experienced her first estrus cycle), staying in her favorite spot in the dog's balcony.
Not much mischief here... Well, except for Peanut's ongoing Photo Strike.

Wordy Wednesday: Dog Saves Lives but Loses Her Face

I was replacing the newspapers in Peanuts' indoor potty spot when I came across this February article. It's about a dog named Kabang (the locality's term for "spotty"), a female dog who saves the lives of two little girls.

The girls had been crossing the street when Kabang leaped towards them before a motorcycle could hit the cousins. They stumbled but both of them were unharmed.

This article made national headlines. It was definitely worth reading.
Unfortunately, some of Kabang's facial bones were crushed that she lost her snout when she got stuck on the motorcycle's front wheel. The instant she was pulled off, she ran away from home.

The family had taught that she was gone for good but two weeks later, Kabang came back with a very different look. Nonetheless, the family was happy she went home to them. She is currently eating with the help of her paws.

Kabang had found her forever home in the Bunggal family. They treated her as one of them even though they didn't have much to offer.  When she was a puppy, she was fed with milk and porridge.  For a family in poverty, providing for their dogs is a big deal. Yet they did, and for that I applaud them.

Monday Mischief: NO Treats? NO Pretty Pictures!

You must be wondering why I haven't posted anything new with Peanuts modelling her cute little booty for my photos. Aside from having to bear with a phone camera (which I always complain about ^_^), Peanuts is beginning to understand how her still poses are actually worth something- TREATS.

Darn! She's getting smarter!
I couldn't believe how lawyer-like she's starting to sound. Why in the world did I end up with someone so demanding?

So this is how it feels to be outsmarted by a dog... a puppy for that matter!
What in the world!?! I was hoping to take an adorable face portrait while her head was resting on my knees. The moment she saw the phone, she took a move and made her demands pretty clear.

There's a second time for everything.

10 Interesting Dog Superstitions

First of all, I'd like to thank everybody for concerning themselves with my well-being. I'm still coughing badly but I'm now able to sleep better.

When I first made this blog, making posts about my dogs alone weren't an option I had considered. However this past months, I've been doing just that. So now, I'd like to share some compiled information I've picked up while watching TV, reading books and browsing the web for anything dog related.

Some of these superstitions are still being told by elders in my country.

1. If a dog is growling for no obvious reason, it means he is growling at a spirit.

2. A dog eating grass is an indication that it will rain soon.

3. A sleepy dog scratching himself indicates a change in weather.

4. Like how a black cat signifies bad luck, seeing three white dogs together at the same time will bring good luck.

5. A Greyhound having a white spot on its forehead will bring wealth.

6. Meeting a Dalmatian is good luck. (This one is probably true. Meeting ANY dog IS good luck!)

7. If a dog licks a newborn baby, that baby will be a fast healer.

8. If a strange dog is walking inside your house, expect a new friendship on the way.

9. If a dog is howling, supernatural beings are passing through your house. (This drives my mom crazy because of her ancestral beliefs. Whenever she hears BD howling, she'll either panic or get mad at him.)

10. Before starting on a job hunt, scratching your dog will get you a job.

I hope you've enjoyed reading this post.

MyDogsLove.Me is ?!?

Dear Bloggy Friends,

Haopee is SICK. It started with a very bad flu which turned into asthma attacks giving me sleepless nights and making me literally catch my breath in every chore or activity I do. Yes, dear friends, even taking a bath becomes a breathless task.

Brother Dog (BD) is COOPERATIVE. He is now eating dog food. I'd just discovered so when I caught him eating Coal's meal.

Coal is PICKY. He no longer finishes his whole meal. We do feed them dry dog food. However, to make their meals tastier, I do add cooked meat with carrots and peas.

Ginger is SMART. She's awesome. They used to jump at me when I'm about to hand them their doggy bowl, now she realizes that the doggy bowl won't come down unless she sits.

Peanuts is PARANOID. In the middle of the night, she gets up my bed, scratches my head and smells my hair checking if I'm still alive because I have my entire body covered in blankets.

It's way past noon and she's still fast asleep- too tired of doing her nursing duties.
Not a lot of mischief today. Kindly bear with me if I haven't visited your blogs recently.
