Almost Wordless Wednesday: Lights, Camera, ACTION!

Yes, we are guilty of being away for some time. My beau came to visit me at my sister's so I've been a bit occupied. Moreover, I was troubleshooting the newly built house's Ethernet network.

In short, I was busy busy busy ^^. So enough of my whining and let me present to you our latest adventure shots.

You'd think Shih Tzus were bred to have the decency to respect the bigger dog. Buchi doesn't mind being toppled or trampled by Rin.
This is what play time is in the morning. Yes, we have morning and evening sessions.

Nope, I doubt Buchi understands the concept of "I, Big Dog, Squish Small Dog."
Morning playtime is right after potty time. Buchi is on a leash when he isn't done pottying because he will leave presents EVERYWHERE.

Good thing Rin is such a gentle giant. She puts up with the small annoyingly ambitious dog.
Have a great Wednesday. We promise to make it up to you guys as soon as I can find a longer time to sit in front of the computer other than my meal breaks.

Not so Wordless Wednesday: Our First Kong Wubba

Just a couple of words before I go wordless... we would like to thank Ruthie (editor-in-chief of Blogville Chronicles and boss of K-9 Katastrophie) for our awesome new toys. We were hoping to showcase all of them but unfortunately, the Kong Air Dogs were heavily played with last night and due to my camera's lack of night vision, no shots were taken.

So with no further ado, here's our wordless Wednesday post.

Look who's got first dibs on Kong Wubba Blue.

You're too late, Rin. My little niece (from Mischief Monday) over-squeaked it before you got your chance.

And here's Rin having one paw on Kong Wubba Blue while staking out the perimeter for  tiny dogs to wrestle with.

Chooey gets an opportunity to finally have some one on one time with Kong Wubba Blue and doesn't waste a minute to bond with it.

Satisfaction guaranteed!

Once again, thank you, Ruthie and staff. We are truly truly happy with our new Kong toys (we including me and my niece from mischief Monday who was guiltily caught on a squeak-a-thon the day before).

Mischief Monday: Little Human Equals Little Meanie

Dear Bloggy Friends,

Chooey has especially requested that the injustice done to her by a human be posted to show the world how meanies come in all forms and sizes.

So, please prepare yourself to see her definition of dog cruelty.

Ready?

Shame on you for using me as a puppy shield!
Are you really sure only dogs and cats are up to mischief today?

Today's Family Friday post, I would like to share to you Buchi's handsomely dashing new look.

Note: Kindly refrain from laughing as Buchi can be pretty sensitive (aggressive) to loud gestures and insults. Perhaps you can drop by our blast from the past postings entitled 4 Tips on Handling Dog Aggression.

Mischief Monday: The Ride, The Vet and The Hairstyle

Today, we went to the Marikina Veterinary Clinic to have our follow-up consultation. It was a couple of days after the horrible weather so we weren't surprised that there were a lot of dogs waiting for their turn to see the dogtor.

One of Marikina's mode of transportation is the tricycle. It's like a three-wheeled taxi with open air conditioning. This is Chooey's third time to ride it and it's no surprise that she still gets excited with all the sights, scents and sounds.

She's on top of my lap at the moment... no excitement yet.
Together with Buchi, Chooey's like that Energizer bunny that goes on and on and on and on.

This is one of the very few pictures of our tricycle ride wherein she kept still.
As I've said awhile ago, there were a lot of dogs in the clinic  waiting for their turn to be called in, weighted, nails cut, and ear hairs pulled. Chooey thinks that everybody is her friend. Apart from the ones on the picture below, we met more Shih Tzus, a Poodle, and a Shar Pei.

See how evil the vetties are! It's not only Buchi who's wearing the cone of shame, but the Dachshund and another Buchi-looking fellow. It's like they're trying to put all dogs to shame... SO MEAN! Vetties are doing the ultimate mischief.
Bad news though, since the medicine did not take away the warts, Chooey needs to undergo cauterization which costs  approximately 1,000 php (or about $25). The vet said that she just wanted to make sure that it won't spread. And more bad news, Buchi has to wear the cone of shame even longer so he doesn't lick his little boy area.

on the bright side,  the vet did not charge us anything for the follow-up consultation. The Marikina Veterinary Clinic is the coolest!

We were supposed to have him groomed in the clinic today but their groomers were all on a day-off. So we would have to come back tomorrow and bring Buchi to be groomed while Chooey will have her Canine Papilloma (dog warts) cauterized. We hope to come out a wart-less dog.

In the mean time, our friend Suka of Suka's Just Sayin is in need of our power of paws and prayers. Suka is having multiple issues including arthritis, a lung or heart disease and an inner ear problem. Please find the time to drop by their page to lend a supportive paw.

Silly Saturday: Two Shih Tzus Together At Last

I'm pretty sure that some of you have already mistaken Chooey for a boy or Buchi and Chooey as one- since they're both Shih Tzus. And let's face it, they look alike- except for Buchi's giant eyes and Chooey's smaller figure.  So in today's Saturday feature, here are some pictures to lessen the confusion ^^.

You'd think with a face like Buchi's, he's just some ordinary adorable dog. HE ISN'T! He Cujo-ed and bit me last week. (-.-)
I placed them on top of the stairwell to the third floor.

Chooey can look pretty cute when she isn't jumping at everybody. Oh wait, she's still cute even then.
And here's their last shot together.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Almost Wordless Wednesday: Rin's Eye Cyst and Turmeric, a year later

One of the more popular posts of MyDogsLove.Me is regarding our usage of Turmeric to reduce the size of Rin's Eye Cyst. I am proud to say that incorporating turmeric in Rin's diet is one of the best decisions I and my sister ever made for the dog.

From this...

This picture was taken last November 24, 2011.

To this...

The size reduction in Rin's eye cyst has been dramatic.

Mischief Monday: The Marikina Veterinary Clinic Visit

Today, we were able to find some time to visit the vet and have our "issues" checked-up. Chooey wasn't too excited at all about it.

She looks sad doesn't she?
Apparently, she knows the leash isn't good news. You'd think she knows she was going to the vet... or something (^_^).

You must be wondering what she's thinking of.
The Marikina Veterinary Clinic is my favorite dog and cat clinic. Before they do a dog check up, they'll cut the nails and remove the ear hairs of your dog free of charge. More importantly, they're very effective. This was where I brought Buchi when he got the nasty mange attack.

Just my petty attempt to create a panoramic view of the Marikina Veterinary Clinic
The Marikina Veterinary Clinic consultation fee is 250 php (roughly $7). They were nice enough to exempt Buchi from the check-up fee as they only charged for Chooey's. Veterinary care doesn't get more generous and genuine than this.

Chooey seems comfortable with her Vet Tech. She's now looking at the Belgian Malinois in the grooming area while waiting for Ms. Vetty.
You must be wondering where the mischief is. Ready for it?

Oh, the horror! Oh, the horror!
Luckily, Buchi's little boy area isn't as infected as we thought it was. In the mean time, the cone of shame- err, the Elizabethan Collar- will have to stay there for a week.

Frustrating Friday: My Chooey Dilemma (Canine Warts?)

I was supposed to post about my newest project regarding Buchi's Dog Rehabilitation. However, during my inspection of Chooey's face- eyes, ears, nose and mouth... a little growth on her mouth caught my eye.

Before everything else, let me just share with you a picture of how Chooey acted during the entire trip home.

OBEDIENT- in human terms SLEEPING

After 2 nights and 2 days of re-potty training, socializing, grooming and setting them up comfortably in their new dog houses ( waking up at 5 AM, spending more than 4 hours with them and making sure they're all comfy and cozy at night), I discovered this.

There was 1...
So I called my sister as we made a thorough inspection of Chooey's mouth and further found 4 more.

I was surprised to have never noticed this before.
We've just arrived and this is what I find out... It's as if they just popped out of nowhere. There were 2 inside her mouth and 3 small ones outside. I feel weak and powerless at the sight of these growths. So, I researched about them- praying it's just a minor irritation from the baking soda I've been using to deodorize the place (since Buchi isn't potty trained).

But then I read about Epulis, a kind of oral tumor, and Canine Warts.
We've decided to go to the vet a little later (next week) as I don't want to stress Chooey much. We just got here, for Dog's Sake!

Chooey may have contracted canine warts, which I am still unable to comprehend where she got. I couldn't bear the fact that due to her immature immune system she picked this up. Worst, I have to stop her and Buchi from playing with each other because it's contagious.

My sister told me not to worry too much but I'm just devastated.

Almost Wordless Wednesday

Chooey and I have arrived safely at my sister's place, but I'm quite tired so I haven't had much time visiting you guys.

In the mean time, please enjoy this drawing of Ginger by my niece.
